Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel is set to present the annual budget for the fiscal year 2082/083 today in a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament.

According to Federal Parliament Secretary Padam Prasad Pandey, the meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, where the Finance Minister will unveil the revenue and expenditure estimates, in line with Article 119 of the Constitution of Nepal. All members of both houses have been requested to be present by 2:45 PM in the meeting hall of the House of Representatives.

Ahead of the budget session, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will read out a letter related to additional government responsibilities received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at a session starting at 1:30 PM.

Finance Minister Poudel is also scheduled to present the Economic Survey for FY 2082/083 during that session.

In addition, the National Assembly will hold a separate meeting at 1:45 PM, where the Finance Minister is expected to submit the Economic Survey for formal tabling.

This budget presentation will provide a roadmap for the government's financial planning, development priorities, and economic strategies for the upcoming fiscal year.
